Irrigation Designer needed at Pollock & Associates

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 / NQF4 minimum
• A degree or National Diploma in a relevant field is advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in irrigation design
• SABI membership and SABI Irrigation training is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Model Maker, IrriMaker, AutoCAD, and/or IrriCAD
• Experience with CHC NAV / TRIMBLE land surveying equipment
• Advanced MS Excel and MS Office Suite skills
• Understanding of plant and soil science is beneficial
• Valid Driver’s Licence; flexible to work extended hours

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct land surveys and design centre pivots, micro, and drip systems
• Prepare designs, bills of quantities, technical drawings, and quotations
• Select pumps, design pumphouses, and specify pipe systems
• Liaise with suppliers, installation teams, farm managers, and clients
• Support business growth through participation in farmers’ days and trade shows
