Jod Summary 

The role of the IT Technician is to provide technical support for company computer hardware, mobile devices and applications that are used by staff in the office and working remotely. Support also includes installation, configuration, testing of all software supported under the established guidelines. The IT Technician will also support and maintain network infrastructure within the office environment.

  • Configuring, Iinstalling, maintaining, and troubleshooting all company hardware
  • Deploying and supporting windows operating systems and applications
  • Maintaining office networking infrastructure in conjunction with the network engineer and system administrators.
  • Work with third-party suppliers/vendors to resolve technical problems with computing equipment and software i.e. Dell & Microsoft support.
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, VPN services, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
  • Supporting mobile devices with email, MS Teams and Multi Factor Authentication and SSPR procedures.
  • Providing fast, accurate problem solving through the central service desk and escalating incidents to the right departments where needed.
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skill with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues and technical staff when problems arise and provide user guidance through a consultative process with the infrastructure team
  • Attend daily standby meetings with the rest of the technical team to give feedback on current issues and workflows
  • Participate actively and flexibly in a range of system projects together with the IT Project Manager.
  • Carry out regular IT training, couching to familiarise staff on the use of office hardware and shared platforms and new change in systems.
  • Ensure that all desktop, laptop and printing devices are accurately recorded and controlled via the Asset Auditing software and processes.
  • Ensure staff are aware of IT Policies and Procedures
  • Support offices in other regions.

  • Experience in IT Asset Management (advantageous)
  • Microsoft desktop certification, MD100 or MD101 (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy
