KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning:

  • To deliver quality lectures and support to students
  • Set assessments and make sure that students receive feedback on time
  • Address student queries and problems
  • Develop study material.

Research and Innovation and/or Creative Outputs:

  • Be active in research, further studies and publishing of academic articles.

Academic Leadership and Administration:

  • Fulfilling management tasks and duties in service of the university, as they arise (for example, serving on a Faculty Board or committee).
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.

Social Responsiveness (sharing of expertise and community engagement):

  • Involvement in community engagement through CE projects and collaboration with necessary stakeholders.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS):

  • Cooperate with management, OHS officials and colleagues to help everyone meet the legal requirements, whilst upholding and maintaining general occupational health and safety standards and practices.

Minimum requirements

  • An honour’s degree (NQF level 8) in Setswana, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year’ lecturing or tutoring experience at a tertiary institution.
  • Candidate should be fluent in Setswana (modules are taught in Setswana).
