Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • To provide professional Kinderkinetics services in the Clinic for Kinderkinetics, Pretland, including evaluation, lesson facilitation, remedial and developmental programmes, and student supervision, thereby ensuring high-quality service delivery, programme sustainability, and third-stream income growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Delivery 

  • Service Delivery (remedial, swimming, special needs, baby stimulation, motor development sessions).

Evaluations

  • Evaluation and Reporting (±400 evaluations/year, data capture, report writing, parent feedback).

Planning  

  • Programme Planning (lesson design, preparation of 100 lesson per term).

 Teaching and Learning

  • Student Supervision and Mentorship (Honours students during WIL/practicals).

Administration

  • Administration and Financial Support (client registration, scheduling, invoicing, VSS updates).

External Relationships

  • Marketing and Community Engagement (school demos, awareness campaigns, social media content).

Minimum requirements

  • An honours degree (NQF level 8) in Human Movement Science, specialising in Kinderkinetics and Pediatric Exercise Science.
  • Registered with the South African Professional Institute of Kinderkinetics (SAPIK).
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ service delivery experience as a Kinderkinetics – independent practitioner/supervised practice.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ support and independent instruction experience in the aquatic and/or remedial programmes.

ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:

  • A master’s degree (NQF level 9) in Human Movement Science, specializing in Kinderkinetics and Pediatric Exercise Science.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with special needs populations (CP, DS, Autism, ID) – programme facilitation/group and individual sessions.
  • A minimum of one (1) year student supervision and mentorship (Honours Kinderkinetics, WIL) experience – supervision of small groups during WIL/practical sessions.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Motor development assessment and intervention.
  • Lesson planning and facilitation (individual and group).
  • Knowledge of developmental delays and remedial strategies.
  • Report writing and parent feedback.
  • Practice experience regarding organization / administration / business skills.
  • Experience in marketing of practice/programmes.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Organised and detail oriented.
  • Passion for working with children and families.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a busy clinic environment
