Lab Assistant (Cytology) – Pretoria Lynnwood needed at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To clean and maintain laboratory and assist with preparation of specimens in the laboratory. To generate accurate reports received from the relevant Pathologist in the Histology laboratory using Meditech system.

Requirements:

• Grade 12, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, Secretarial certificate or diploma

Required Experience:

• Experience within a pathology environment, Knowledge: Meditech system

Key Responsibilities:

• Capture data on Meditech in order to ensure accurate and effective capturing of patient details, Clean and maintain laboratory in order to ensure a clean and safe work environment, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath,
• Perform general and administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory, Perform general laboratory tasks in order to ensure the effective functioning of the laboratory,
• Prepare Cytology specimen in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens in the laboratory, Receive gynae specimens in order to ensure effective and efficient specimen flow in the laboratory
