Laminating Operator (6 Months Fixed Term Contract) Job at Novus Holdings Ltd

Introduction

• Novus Print: Montague Gardens is currently seeking to appoint a competent individual on a six-month fixed-term contract (FTC) with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Laminating Operator in the Bindery Department. The successful candidate will report to the Production Controller.

Job description

• Responsible for laminating printed sheets and board for books, magazines, packaging and commercial work.
• Set up and operate the laminating machine according to the work ticket and job specifications.
• Load film reels and adjust temperature, pressure, speed and tension to achieve a consistent finish.
• Inspect work throughout each production run for bubbles, wrinkles, curl, poor adhesion and misalignment, and correct issues as required.
• Ensure that finished work meets the required quality standards and job specifications.
• Ensure that machine safety devices are functional, report machine faults promptly and follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Follow all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and complete the required checklists.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the laminating machine.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure that the production area remains clean, safe and organised.

Minimum requirements

• Grade 12
• 2–3 Years laminating experience in a print environment
• Knowledge of films, adhesives and substrates
