- A leading player in the energy and infrastructure space is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer – Energy Systems & Audits to take ownership of electrical installations, energy audits, and system optimisation across client sites. This is a senior role that blends technical expertise with compliance oversight, project coordination, and client-facing responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct energy efficiency audits and detailed metering assessments
- Install, program, and maintain energy meters and monitoring equipment
- Interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams with confidence
- Manage the installation of lightning systems, Solar PV, batteries, and inverters
- Ensure full compliance with relevant electrical and energy standards (e.g. SANS 10142, SANS 10114-1)
- Analyse and report on energy usage and savings
- Oversee technical teams and subcontracts on-site
- Maintain accurate documentation and project records
- Represent the technical function in ESCO-related projects and business development initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Wireman’s license and registration with the Department of Labour (mandatory)
- ECSA registration
- 10+ years experience in electrical infrastructure, energy efficiency, or renewable energy installations
- Experience with SSEG (Solar PV) and energy efficiency projects highly advantageous
