Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom / BA / BSocSci / HRD Degree or equivalent preferably with an Education focus
  • Valid Code EB drivers’ licence
  • 5 years relevant experience in a learning and development function or similar environment

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support our employees with appropriate technical expertise as well as leadership and management capabilities building opportunities so that we are always leading the game within the Food Manufacturing Industry.
  • Ensure that skills development delivery addresses current and future skills requirements through effective facilitation of competency-based training need analyses, workplace skills plan compilation, selection and supervision of facilitators and training service providers.
  • Oversee training program scheduling and execution, the provision of effective logistical support, training management reporting, and cost control. This will include the design, production, and delivery of professional and technical facilitated training events.
  • Governance of the Skills Development projects/Talent Feeder schemes,
  • Manage the learning budget for the respective Business and maintenance thereof
  • Manage the end-to-end projects, ensuring that all aspects are running smoothly and according to plan. Ensure that the work of the team and individuals are continually aligned to meet the internal customer’s needs.
  • Acts as a productive and proactive liaison/partner with the operations and business teams consistently seeking to make a positive impact on key business safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience metrics.

Training Needs Analysis/Identification

  • Planning, implementing and overseeing the successful execution of a Learning and Development plan / WSP for the respective business unit (s)
  • Assess training needs through various channels
  • Conduct training needs analysis using a variety of techniques and methodologies.
  • Collating data for the construction and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report (WSP & ATR)
  • Align skills development projects to SETA discretionary funding process
  • Creation of a training/skills matrix per functional area and maintenance of the matrix on an annual basis:
  • Support Line Managers to design well-thought-through IDPs (Individual development plans)
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution and implementation of the Workplace Skills Plan

Facilitate the co-creation of learning curriculum design and development (Education and Training Design)

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the subsequent measurement of training effects.
  • Deliver training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques. Manages the arrangements for the orientation /onboarding program of hires and provides support to the HR Business Partners and Practitioners in the regions.
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective Manage the end-to-end projects, ensuring that all aspects are running smoothly and according to plan.
  • The Learning and Development specialist manages information on the HR Manage system by tracking attendance and program information, running reports, and fielding questions to provide support to the Learning manager.
  • Work in conjunction with Subject Matter Expert(s) to develop a learning curriculum for all programs

Run an effective Learning Governance and Quality Assurance Systems

  • Custodian of the Learning and Development Quality Management System (QMS) for the respective BUs.
  • Guide business unit with regards to the application of Learning and Development policies.
  • Ensure the Learning record-keeping system provides for Compliance audits related to B-BBEE, Sustainability Reporting and legislative reporting related to SETA requirements and the Skills Development Act as well as Employment Equity Reporting
  • Produce monthly learning management reporting
  • Participate in BEE, SETA, SARS, and supplier audits and ensure audit recommendations are actioned within the area of responsibility;
  • Learning Systems Quality Assurance within the SAQA framework;
  • Produce monthly learning management reporting.
