  • To teach Mathematics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. To participate in research and community projects in the department. 
  • To liaise with schools and related learning communities inside and outside the University.

  • To promote excellence and quality in teaching and learning, community engagements, and research activities. 
  • To participate in marketing and recruitment strategies of the department. 
  • To develop and design teaching and learning materials and lead programme teams according to The Minimum Requirements for Teacher Education Qualifications. 
  • To participate in relevant training activities for professional development. 
  • To assist the department in always complying with internal and external regulatory bodies’ requests when necessary.  

Minimum requirements: 

Academic qualifications: 

  • NQF Level 9 Master of Education degree with specialisation in Intermediate Phase Mathematics and assessment teaching in the General Education and Training (GET) Bands. 

 Experience: 

  • Candidates must have adequate and relevant teaching experience in their GET band teaching Intermediate Phase Mathematics. 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of lecturing experience including teaching Intermediate Phase Mathematics at a Higher Education Institution. 

 Knowledge and Skills 

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Competent in ITS
