Lecturer – Statistics needed at Durban University of Technology

Minimum Requirements 

• A Master’s degree in Applied or Mathematical Statistics
• At least 3 years of lecturing experience.

 Additional Recommendation:

• Evidence of publication in international and national peer-reviewed journals
• A broad understanding of current research developments and teaching trends within the discipline
• Knowledge and experience of various statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R
• Evidence of engagement in continuous academic development
• Evidence of involvement in community engagement projects

 Summary of Duties:

• Management of all matters relating to learning, teaching, and assessment
• Assist in curriculum development
• Assist in the development of industry-specific non-subsidised short courses
• The ability to initiate various research projects and aid in the growth of the research output of the
• department
• To demonstrate effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and excellent management
• and administrative skills
• Collaborate and engage with other Universities and key stakeholders in industry
• Experience in e-Learning
• Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department
