Key Performance Areas:

Tenders

  • Partake in weekly tender review meetings to discuss new enquiries and the status of submitted tenders.
  • Assess commercial/contractual terms considering minimum requirements and the practical issues relating to the specific project.
  • Compile a commercial qualifications list for inclusion into tender.
  • Jointly with the Proposals department compile non-technical approval documentation.
  • Attend customer clarification and negotiation meetings and all internal tender related discussions as the Legal Representative.
  • Finalise contract documentation to a stage where it can be signed, assist with obtaining signatures if necessary and save a copy of the fully signed contract.
  • Prepare commercial/contractual handover document.
  • Attend kick-off/handover meetings.
  • Provide advice as and when required during the execution phase.

General Legal

  • Ensure compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, implement statutory measures, draft required documentation, policies and guidelines, creates awareness.
  • Maintain PAIA manual.
  • Implementation of Compliance plan (including compliance matrices and register).
  • Organise, measure and monitor ethics in the organisation.
  • Review and revise company standard terms and conditions for suppliers and clients, as and when required.
  • Draft and review company frame agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and guidelines.
  • Draft legal agreements.
  • Liaison with attorneys on disputes.
  • Legal research.
  • Assist Executive GM: Legal with projects/tasks as and when these arise.
  • Any other job related duties as required from time to time.

Preferred Requirements:

  • LLB degree plus completed articles.
  • 5 Years’ extensive experience in NEC contracts.
  • 5 Years’ experience in contract review at tender stage.
  • Knowledge and working experience on FIDIC.
  • Experience in advising on contracts during execution stage. 
  • Experience in drafting and analysing contracts.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
