• Clover is recruiting for a Logistics Manager to join the Bloemfontein Production facility.  The purpose of the position is to ensure optimal provision of raw/packaging materials as required by the production plan as well as managing the inboud and outbound logistics department.

Requirements

• Degree/Relevant Diploma in related field
• Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level
• People management experience
• Business English: Fluent
• Code 08 Driver’s license
• Computer literacy (Intermediate)
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays
• Travel off-site/ overnight stay

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the availability of raw material and packaging        

• Manage the purchase process of raw material/packaging        
• Ensure optimal stock levels         
• Take proactive steps to prevent losses        
• Assist with raw milk/cream planning         
• Ensure that continuous improvement practices take place        

Manage the warehouse operations        

• Optimise warehouse capacity utilisation          
• Improve warehouse efficiencies          
• Ensure critical controls are in place         
• Ensure that standard operating procedures are applied correctly         
• Ensure systems are in place to execute functions relating to maintenance, safety and security etc.          
• Control key aspects and take corrective action where necessary        
• Drive continuous improvement principles          

Manage stock control function

• Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw and packaging material        
• Manage raw material/packaging store         
• Ensure that lifting equipment complies with safety requirements         
• Coordinate stock counts        
• Implement and control stock management procedures (including pallets, crates etc.)        

 Manage fixed and variable cost        

• Compile budget and report deviations         
• Plan for resource demands         
• Do peak planning        
• Manage stock breakages and losses        

Manage the WMS        

• Ensure the availability of the system         
• Maintain sound administration principles

Manage staff

• Ensure optimal utilisation of staff        
• Apply consistent discipline         
• Train and develop staff         
• Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication to all        
• Establish continuous improvement practices         
• Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
