Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Operations:
- Efficient operation of the packaging equipment to achieve packaging targets.
- Check equipment availability in preparation for production start up
- Start up, operate, and shut down the equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and perform changeovers in accordance with the packaging production plan.
- Clean workstation and equipment according to standard operating procedures and schedules.
- CIP of bottling line and production equipment when needed
- Participate in DCS1 meetings.
- Participate in problem solving and opportunity identification within the production environment
- Give feedback on equipment performance.
- Operation of RO plant to produce RO water within specification
- Responsible for the blending of premium brandies
- Assist production team in loading / off-loading of trucks
- Assist production team in maturation tasks
- Safe and efficient handling of chemicals
- Completion of all process control sheets and other production documentation
- Participate in bulk, dry goods and finished goods stock take
- Actively participate in TPM activities
Maintenance:
- [DJ1] [MB2] [DJ3] Report and record faults and deviations on machines to Production Controller
Safety, Health and Environment:
- Compliance to the SHE standards and requirements to ensure safe operation of the
- production processes for maturation, blending and bottling
- Report unsafe conditions and accidents to the SHE representative and supervisor
- Follow safe work procedures, including the use of correct PPE.
- Segregate and dispose of waste as per the waste handling program requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings and committees.
- Ensure the department operates within company SHE standards and OHS Act, through continued education and training and obtaining the co-operation and commitment of all staff to observe all safety rules, procedures, and processes to drive zero accident mentality.
Compliance:
- Compliance with the quality standards and requirements to ensure the packaging of a quality beverage.
- Carry out quality checks on all the production processes
- Monitor packaging equipment control parameters.
- Support all quality initiatives.
- Capture data and keep records for reference and auditing.
- Must follow and maintain requirements and procedures as laid down in the Quality Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000 and SANS1841)
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Grade 12 qualification
- Must have completed BMO and / or another skills program.
- Working experience within a production/bottling environment
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Must display attention to detail.
- Ability to solve basic production problems.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to organize a wide variety of tasks under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours when required.
- Have own, or access to, reliable transport to and from work.
- Be customer focused.
- Must be reliable in terms of attendance and punctuality
