Machine Technician – Crown Bag, Harrismith needed at VKB Group

Job Description

• the ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up machines on production lines and ensuring that the machines achieve the required output speeds with minimal waste.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine operator
• Experience with Triumph machines is advantageous
• Knowledge of bag-making processes, packing, and flexographic printing processes is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and maintain machine setup standards within the business
• Perform changeovers between product lines
• Conduct operator maintenance on machines
• Plan efficient workflows to meet production targets and deadlines
• Diagnose and resolve faults
• Monitor quality
• Optimize the utilization of resources to ensure minimal waste, maximum productivity, and work efficiency
• Adhere to all Health and Safety legislative requirements and meet required standards
• Conduct routine daily analyses
• Manage and establish all standards for product evaluation
• Facilitate training for machine operators to meet required standards
