- N Levels in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering OR National Diploma in Engineering or Millwright Trade
- 5+ years relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level in a food manufacturing plant
- 5+ years’ people management experience
- Technical experience: High Speed Machinery, Packaging machinery, PLC, SCADA, Fault finding, Pneumatic & Electrical controls
- Business English: Fluent
- Computer literacy

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance function at branch and/or area of responsibility
- Ensure optimal maintenance approach and improvement techniques e.g. OMM, RCM
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of energy and services to facility/branch
- Manage maintenance function, engineering store where applicable
- Ensure that equipment comply with safety requirements
- Plan and execute maintenance plan
- Establish continuous improvement practices
Manage the budget
- Optimise and reduce the maintenance cost
- Manage and reduce the electrical, steam, water, etc. consumption
- Manage engineering stock
- Manage the maintenance fixed cost budget
- Assist in managing the capex budget
Manage staff
- Ensure optimal utilisation of staff
- Apply consistent discipline
- Train and develop staff
- Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication to all
- Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
- Provide leadership and training to artisans.
- Set objectives, manage and measure performance of subordinates
Maintain employee safety
- Establish safety practices in accordance with the OSHACT
- Implement actions to reduce the environmental impact of the plant
- Create a safe and efficient working environment (SHE)
- Establish a safety culture at the plant
Participate in project management
- Oversee the execution of projects
