Accountant Management
- Financial operational support – Support Marketplace and HO operations teams
- Be the Operations and Finance Manager’s financial support person
- Monitor Marketplace and WW Dash operational processes and be proactive with suggestions
- Review Marketplace and Woolies Dash analysis of P&L via benchmarking
- Perform monthly financial reviews with Operations, and provide insights into variances for further follow-up
- Ensure financial compliance with general frameworks, policies and procedures
- Ensure monthly P&L is complete and accurate for the business unit,
- Provide detailed explanations for variances against Last year, plan and forecast.
- Prepare and present at monthly flash meetings to CFO and Financial Manager.
- Understand all accounts in P&L e.g. how they interface and nature of accounts
- Determine whether allocation methods used between departments is optimum
- Review all journal entries processed prior to closing the month-end to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and own management accounts, trading report and quarterly reports for the business unit.
- Ensure compliance in terms of internal audit controls, external audit, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA ) and other laws and regulations
- Collaborate with FPA team and fellow teams in control to share best practices.
- Preparation of tax and statutory packs as required
- Ensure compliance with all levels of Anti-Corruption rules.
- Ensure compliance by the teams for Vendor master data
- Be the Vendor Management BPO
- Train Marketplace and OC Dash as and when required on various accounting principles.
- Assist Financial Manager with all adhoc requests
Reporting
- Preparation of information required for monthly reporting
- Manage and own all Woolies Dash and Marketplace specific reports
- Ensure the accurate maintenance of all financial reports

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience required for this position
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a Management Accountant role.
- Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Preferably studying towards CIMA
