Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on automation best practices, helping team members improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancements
  • Manage the workload, schedule, and resource allocation of the QA team to ensure timely delivery of testing tasks and projects.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Prioritize the use of QA team members and other resources with the required skills and competencies for the achievement of business goals.
  • Provides leadership in the recommended resolution and/or escalation of issues that may impact QA team deliverables.
  • Ensures timeous delivery of QA team deliverables.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancements.
  • Develop and build a community practice that supports a culture of learning and knowledge sharing and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment to frameworks, practices, processes, risk management to minimize and prevent any audit findings in respect of the function and projects executed.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders, and acts as a trusted advisor

Quality Assurance Processes:

  • Create and maintain QA Framework.
  • Management Reporting on QA Initiatives.
  • Ensuring all QA practices, documentation and artefacts delivered are at an industry and organizational standard.
  • Oversee the end-to-end QA process, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Define and implement QA metrics and KPIs to monitor and report on the quality and effectiveness of testing efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA department, identifying areas for process optimization and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements in all QA activities.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and efficient automated test frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within the testing process and drive the adoption of automation tools and practices across the QA team.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate automation tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve QA team delivery.
  • Provide feedback to Senior Management as required.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across various initiatives.
  • Engage with vendors and suppliers for the planning, designing and implementation of information services applications
  • Act as the primary escalation point of contact for all QA-related activities.
  • Work closely with project managers, development manager and development teams to ensure that quality is built into the product from the beginning.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure the smooth deployment of automated tests.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to align QA efforts with overall project goals.

Requirements
Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field 
  • Certification in QA or test automation (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester).
  • Certificate in Automation Testing.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Software Tester.
  • 2 – 3 years of direct management of a Quality Assurance team.
  • Insurance experience will be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years experience in automated software testing.
  • 3 years experience of having designed and implemented test frameworks and enhancing existing test processes
  • 3 – 5 years experience on driving test strategy, detailed test plan, test cases design, test data management and full-cycle execution management.
  • 3 years experience with cloud-based testing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
