Duties
- Managing and coordinating all strategic learning, teaching and assessment initiatives within the Faculty.
- Representing the Faculty and Dean’s Office, as required on institutional and Faculty forums.
- Implementing institutional policies, guidelines and strategies at Faculty level, and supportingadministrative and academic staff in this task.
- Leading and coordinating the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum renewal processes within the Faculty.
- Providing strategic oversight and support regarding student access activities and initiatives (recruitment, applications, selection and registration).
- Coordinating and managing activities around student success.
- Managing and supporting key role-players in the Vice-Dean: Learning and Teaching reporting lines.
Job Requirements
- Relevant postgraduate qualification at NQF level 8.
- Sound knowledge and experience of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education.
- The ability to liaise with academics and professional/support staff on all levels.
- Previous experience in curriculum renewal or curriculum development initiatives.
- At least five years’ experience in a higher education institution.
- Excellent communication, administrative and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a team approach.
Recommendation
- Relevant master’s degree.
- Sound knowledge of the Stellenbosch University context.
- Experience in training and academic development at a higher education institution
