Duties

  • Managing and coordinating all strategic learning, teaching and assessment initiatives within the Faculty. 
  • Representing the Faculty and Dean’s Office, as required on institutional and Faculty forums.
  • Implementing institutional policies, guidelines and strategies at Faculty level, and supportingadministrative and academic staff in this task.
  • Leading and coordinating the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum renewal processes within the Faculty. 
  • Providing strategic oversight and support regarding student access activities and initiatives (recruitment, applications, selection and registration). 
  • Coordinating and managing activities around student success.
  • Managing and supporting key role-players in the Vice-Dean: Learning and Teaching reporting lines.

Job Requirements    

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification at NQF level 8.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education.
  • The ability to liaise with academics and professional/support staff on all levels.
  • Previous experience in curriculum renewal or curriculum development initiatives.
  • At least five years’ experience in a higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication, administrative and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a team approach.

Recommendation    

  • Relevant master’s degree. 
  • Sound knowledge of the Stellenbosch University context.
  • Experience in training and academic development at a higher education institution
