Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/Logistics or equivalent qualification
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience within a medium to large organization of tenders in excess of R500 million of which three (3) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory level in procurement 
  • Technical knowledge in Demand Management, Acquisition Management, Logistics, Risk Management, Audit, Stores,
  • Database management, control implementations and performance management.

Recommendation

  • Professional body membership such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or similar organization would be highly advantageous

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement and manage procurement policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and manage the CPUT stores system together with the related policies and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of CPUT’s Stores and procurement staff.
  • Generate periodic management reports for management and store items.
  • Prepare and liaise with audit in the conducting of both internal and external annual audits.
  • Database implementation, management and Risk management.
  • Human resource management
  • Any ad hoc function as required by your line manager
