Key Responsibilities
Quality
- To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of customer’s immediate and future needs.
- To implement ISO standards and procedures at all times.
Strategic and Business Plans
- In conjunction with Regional and Global objectives, develop and propose long term strategic and business plans which ensure that agreed targets are met or exceed in the area of responsibility.
Achieve Budget Targets
- Achieve budgeted targets with respect to revenue, EBIT, volume, cash flow, index, DSO, controllable contribution and notional results on a country basis, as well as non-financial indices such as sustainability, EOS and the like.
Service Standards
- Champion and ensure that exceptional standards of service are achieved within the areas as established by Regional and Global policy; ensure that proper measurement tools are in place and that corrective action is taken with respect to identified service failures, productivity improvements and teamwork.
Sales and Marketing Strategies
- Develop, propose and review sales, marketing, advertising and public relations strategies, plans and schedules to achieve agreed annual targets; ensure consistency with Regional and Global objectives.
Develop and Expansion Opportunities
- Evaluate assess market viability of new or modified service developments; co-ordinate with Regional Management to determine action plans, market potential and profitability of proposed new products or services.
Senior Management Recruitment, Development and Succession
- Recruit, select, train, develop, evaluate and motivate senior staff, ensuring a high standard of Country and Area Management in key positions for the present and future organisation.
Human Resources
- Ensure that key functional personnel maintains a fully staffed, well-trained, motivated work force by providing a working environment which fosters an emphasis on employee engagement, service quality, team spirit, career development, high quality work tools and suitable reward programme.
Budget Preparation
- Oversee that annual operation budget preparation for the Area, ensuring that established target dates are met. Propose annual operating budget to Regional Management.
Business Contacts
- Liaise with representatives from customer companies, government and regulatory bodies, airline security and airport authorities, community agencies and ensure that the desired company image is projected at all times.
Communication
- Ensure that effectively communicate systems are in place w.r.t. Key Managers and Staff, as well as Regional Management to expedite the dissemination of information and provide timely management reporting.
Legal Requirements
- Ensure that all statutory and filing requirements are maintained according to local laws.
Network Agreements
- Ensure that all operating agreements are viable and are respected by the relevant authorities and local entities
Minimum Requirements
Education and experience
Expected Qualifications
- Related Business Qualification
- Post graduate qualification
- Minimum of 6 years in Logistics and/or courier industry
- 8 – 10 years’ experience in Management
- Excellent change management and project management skills
- Experience in a matrix organisation.
- Developed networking skills, stakeholder engagement skills and negotiation skills to build cross-functional collaborative relationships
