Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical Qualification (Essential/Minimum)
• N3 Engineering Certificate in a Relevant Field (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade Certification: Electrician MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
• Completion of Basic Management Program (Essential/Minimum)
• 3 years of relevant technical and maintenance experience in a heavy industry, production, or mining environment (Recommended/Desirable)
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Public Driving License: Code C (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence in Core MQA Modules and On-the-Job MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Proficiency in MS Office software package (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Provide electrical support services for installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure and equipment to ensure reliability and safety compliance.
• Assist in day-to-day maintenance operations by collaborating with foreman and completing job cards accurately.
• Stay updated with the latest technological innovations and align processes to implement applicable training and improvements.
• Adhere to Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) protocols by ensuring proper reporting of incidents and diligent use of personal protective equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections of electrical tools, equipment, HT substations, and MCC Rooms, addressing any defects or maintenance needs.
• Execute routine and scheduled maintenance plans, balancing workload to include breakdown recovery and preventive measures.
• Coach and mentor new artisans and apprentices, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and fostering skills development.
• Participate actively in talent and culture development by driving personal training, development plans, and promoting company values.
• Ensure all tasks and installations are completed in a timely manner, complying with SHEC guidelines and forwarding all job cards to foreman upon completion.
• Address unsafe practices swiftly, reporting potential hazards and complying with technical requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
