Mechanical Technician (Durban) needed at Safal Steel

Description

• To provide technical support to plant production and maintenance operations. Assist with training and high-level fault finding. Perform plant development projects. Drive safety initiatives allocated too.
• Good knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, regulations, processes, systems,procedures and practices.
• Expert knowledge of general maintenance processes and systems.
• Project and contractor management.
• Good understanding of plant processes and procedures.
• Coaching of artisans.
• Auditing as required
• Communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.
• Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. RCA
• Provide Technical Support and guidance to the teams.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, in confined spaces and work at heights.
• Ability to work standby and shift work as and when required
• Expert knowledge of hydraulic system and rotating equipment
• Suitable candidate will be required to perform other duties that are related to the function as prescribed by business requirements
• Drives License

Requirements

• Minimum: N6 National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent: National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 Years of experience in a steel environment
• Dangerous Goods Certificate
• Computer literate and SAP System(advantageous)
