  • Valid Code B Driver’s Licence
  • 1-year relevant experience

  • Good health and attendance record
  • Good interpersonal relations
  • Good language proficiency in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, English, Xhosa)
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must be willing to read meters in all possible dangerous and unhygienic areas and spaces
  • Willing to work overtime as requested

Responsibilities:

  • Read all conventional water- and electricity meters in the WCO24 Municipal area using an electronic device
  • Identify premises without water/electricity meters
  • Identify new and renovated buildings in progress for valuation purposes
  • Open and clean restricted meters due to rubble, water, etc.
  • Perform administrative duties related to the section
  • Maintain and safeguard allocated Council vehicle and tools/equipment
