Description

dhk Architects is an award-winning, multidisciplinary design-led studio that provides the full spectrum of architecture, urban design and interior design services from its offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We are seeking a skilled and experienced 3D Artist. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality visualisations that can transform architectural concepts and designs into striking, sophisticated and informative 3D visual media. Our studio is a thriving, creative workplace where you’ll have the freedom to innovate and the chance to work on visualisations that translate into award-winning buildings and beautiful environments. These range from single homes to tall skyscrapers, urban-scale precincts and sophisticated interior designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality still images, cinemagraphs and walkthroughs from Revit and Sketchup models
  • Collaborate closely with architects, graphic designers and clients, aiding in design development and creating cutting-edge marketing media, seeing through projects from concept to delivery
  • Able to work individually and within a team, producing multiple visualisation projects simultaneously, often within short timeframes, with respect for efficiency and team-based workflow procedures
  • Critically interpreting feedback and direction from other team members, architects and clients with clear communication

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in architectural visualisation or a closely related field
  • Expertise in 3DsMax, Corona Renderer, Forest Pack, Lumion and Adobe Suite
  • Proficiency in Sketchup and After Effects is preferable
  • Familiarity with Revit, Autocad, Enscape and Twinmotion is an advantage
  • Essential skills include 3D modelling, texture map creation, slate-material editing, UV-mapping, scene lighting, distributed rendering, post-production and video editing
  • A keen eye for detail, composition, lighting and colour theory, with an awareness of what makes a good image that tells compelling visual stories
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, drawings, processes and language
  • Team-player and a self-starter with a passion for creating high-quality work
