MINING – Finance Manager (CA)

• My client, a well-established mining and metals company is looking for a Finance Manager (CA) to join their team. The role requires a strategic leader with strong financial expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within a mining or heavy industry environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Leadership & Strategy: Provide financial oversight, ensuring sound financial decision-making to support business objectives.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, financial planning, and long-term forecasting.
• Risk & Controls: Implement strong financial controls, mitigate risks, and maintain governance frameworks in line with industry best practices.
• Cost Management & Optimization: Drive financial efficiency and cost reduction initiatives without compromising operational effectiveness.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial team to support business operations.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow, working capital, and financial risk management strategies.
• SAP & Systems Optimization: Utilize SAP and other financial systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.

Minimum Requirements (non-negotiable):

Qualifications:

• CA (SA) / CIMA / BCom Finance or related qualification.
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Required)
• Honours- Bachelor of Commerce or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (Required) 

Experience:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management and accounting experience (Completed Articles, CA (SA)), preferably within the mining, metals, or heavy industry sector.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• 7 Years’ Financial management
• 3 Years’ Managerial Experience

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and corporate governance.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
