Job Description

• To operate, manage and maintain all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit in order to meet the customers’ requirements within the standards and procedures as defined by AECI.

Required outputs: functional

• Managing and operating all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit (MMU) in order to meet the customer requirements with the standards and procedures as defined by AECI.
• Carry out regular inspections in terms of SABS and World Class on fixed plant and MMU to identify non-conformances and institute preventative measures as well as to achieve continuous improvement.
• Assist in eliminating all sources of unnecessary waste and controlling of operating costs within the budgeted parameters.
• Assist in closing or stemming of charged holes if and when required.
• Assist with minor breakdowns on MMU if and when required.
• Ensure Quality products are supplied.
• To maintain vehicle records in the MMU’s (Orange Folder).
• To Aid Engineering to keep track of required maintenance via UOR system.
• To ensure MMU is kept clean at all times.
• To assist TO’s and Engineering team by informing (UOR) on due dates for licencing/ roadworthiness and Calibrations to ensure they are always up to date.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Valid Code EC Drivers Licence with Valid PrDP is essential (please attach a copy of your driver’s licence to your application).
• The applicants must be able to obtain a Red Ticket
• Must be able to pass Psychomotor assessment (Dover symbol A)
• Mechanical aptitude
• On the job experience as a MMU operator in a previous or Acting role
