Job Description    
Reporting to the CEO

  • Primary Focus: Identifying and creating new business opportunities to drive growth with current products and new products.  Manages the current Sales Team, guide and support them on their development.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis
  • Identify emerging markets, industry trends, and customer needs.
  • Analyze competitors and potential areas for expansion.
  • Lead Generation, Prospecting and Customer Relationship Management
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients based on current and new products
  • Maintain relationships with key clients
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure satisfaction
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning and Sales Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement business development and sales strategies aligned with company goals and achieve targets
  • Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns targeting new markets.
  • Forecast sales performance and set quotas
  • Team Leadership & Partnership Development
  • Identify and negotiate with potential partners, vendors, or affiliates.
  • Build long-term relationships that support business growth.
  • Recruit, train, and manage the sales team.
  • Proposal & Pitching
  • Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals and presentations.
  • Customize offerings to meet client needs and close deals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work with product, marketing, and sales teams to align strategies.
  • Provide feedback from prospects to improve offerings.
  • Performance Tracking
  • Monitor KPIs related to new business acquisition.
  • Report on progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Sales Operations
  • Oversee daily sales activities and ensure process efficiency.
  • Use CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and sales performance.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Collaboration
  • Work with marketing to align campaigns with sales goals.
  • Coordinate with product teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure the team adheres to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all sales practices.

Inherent Requirements    

  • Matric + Degree/Diploma in Business/Marketing or closely related
  • New Business Development and Sales Management experience in the Chemical industry 
  • Computer literate
  • Prepared to travel nationally as and when required, and possibly overseas (valid passport)
  • Excellent communication skills, assertive personality
