Nurse needed at Inspired Education

ROLE SUMMARY:

• To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them. To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide First Aid to staff and learners.
• Dispense medication to children as requested by parents.
• Monitor immunization records of learners.
• Implementation of health and safety protocols.
• Transporting and accompanying sick /injured children to medical facilities.
• Record keeping
• Submission of medical insurance claims and organizing payments to doctors and hospitals.
• Drug testing, if required.
• Provide counselling to learners and staff regarding medical issues.
• Management and ordering of stock including invoicing.
• Work hand in hand with Boarding Team.
• Required to reside on campus in designated accommodation provided.
• Be responsible for night –shift and on call during weekends when pupils are on campus. The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong administration skills
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Dispensing skills
• Data reporting and computer literate
• Be organised, have attention to detail, hard-working, flexible.
• SANC registered nurse.
• Previous experience as a school nurse would be advantageous.
• Valid Basic Life Support and First Aid Level 3.
• Knowledge of medical accounting and administration.
• Driver’s license and own vehicle.
• Must be in possession of dispensing license or be in the process of getting one.
• Availability to work on weekends and be on call when required.
• A demonstrable passion for the profession.
• Excellent organizational skills and a positive attitude to change.
