Occupational Health & Safety Officer needed at Westfalia Fruit

Key Responsibilities

• Continuous improvement and Maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System in line with the Corporate Standard and ISO45001
• Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and implementation of risk management controls
• Continuous improvement and Maintenance of the Health and Safety Culture
• Internal and External Audits

Requirements

Education

• Post Matric qualification; i.e., Diploma in Safety Management or related field
• Holder of SAMTRAC qualification, NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
• Valid registration with SAIOSH
• Valid driver license with own vehicle

Experience & Knowledge

• Over 5 years’ experience in the health and safety officer role
• Previous work at managerial level
• Experience in conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments
• Clear understanding of risk mitigation processes
• Advanced Microsoft suite skills
• Advanced communication skills in English; Speaker of Zulu language preferred
• Advance knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards
• Advance understanding and interpretation of the Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety hazards and mitigation measures
