MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To function as a scrub practitioner and circulator under indirect supervision of a professional nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Deliver safe quality patient care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure effective peri-operative preparation for an allocated Theatre list
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control principles in order to mitigate clinical risks
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of equipment and pharmaceutical stock to minimize financial risks

  • ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Operating Theatre Practitioner Diploma
  • DESIRED EDUCATION: None

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Aseptic technique
  • Record keeping
  • Instrument management techniques
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols
