Operations Manager: Durban needed at Yara International

Responsibilities
Operations

• Manage productivity as per plant KPI OEE
• Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery
• Provide technical support where necessary
• Attend to complaints as per Yara procedure
• Ensure production capacity meets order bank requirement through production planning and optimization
• Stock management, monthly stock counts and reconciliations
• Maintain quality control as per Yara TOPS and PS Standards Maintain local supplier(packaging materials) relationships for on time delivery
• Ensure sufficient warehouse capacity for incoming shipments
• Optimization of vessel discharge operations to ensure zero demurrage
• Monitor of road transport contractors for discharging vessels
• Interact with procurement department on raw material as per market demand as per forecasting tool ,sales history and current market requirements

Responsibilities (Continued)
HESQ

• Managing of HESQ processes and objectives for safe production, maintenance, storage  and  handling of materials.
• Perform risk analysis.
• Audit contractor (GTWLS) responsible for blending services. 
• Non Conformity reporting
• Lead by example.

Maintenance

• Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery with focus on preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure maintenance processes and procedures are aligned with Yara TOPs policies and local legislations
• Maintain all preventative and corrective maintenance records.
• Plan and managed biannual scheduled shutdown for Blending units.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 and 5 years’ experience working in a chemical fertilizer production plant environment at  Management level, with proven technical skills.
• Suitable training in quality/environmental standards and regulations in chemical manufacturing environment.
