  • Arranging for consultations with students.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • B.Ed. Honours degree, or
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (at NQF level 8), or
  • Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences Honours degree. The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy and the undergraduate qualification or postgraduate qualification must include Social Sciences or component subjects like History and Geography to at least NQF level 6 (usually the 2nd year of study).

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

  • Teaching/lecturing experience in Social Sciences (or component subjects – e.g. History and Geography) in the Intermediate Phase/Senior Phase/Further Education and Training band/Higher Education band is required.
  •  Teaching experience does not include experience gained during Teaching practice / Work Integrated Learning / Intern work or being a Teaching assistant.
