Key Performance Areas

  • Payroll Management:
  • Accurately process payroll for all employees using VIP Sage Payroll.
  • Ensure payroll is completed on time and in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Wage Payroll Verification and Authorization:
  • Review and verify wage payroll calculations for accuracy.
  • Authorize wage payments to ensure timely disbursement.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Manage employee tax calculations, submissions, and compliance with SARS regulations.
  • Prepare and submit EMP201, EMP501, and other statutory returns online.
  • Reconciliations:
  • Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, including General Ledger (GL) and payroll accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Ensure 3rd Party Payments (e.g., pension funds, medical aid, UIF, etc.) and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Employee Records:
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly.
  • Reporting:
  • Generate payroll reports for management and audit purposes.
  • Provide analysis and insights on payroll data as required.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with the HR and finance teams to align payroll activities with organizational goals.
  • Foster positive working relationships with employees by providing excellent support and service.

Inherent Requirements    
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • Diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Payroll Qualification is essential.
  • A Bookkeeping Qualification will be advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with VIP Sage Payroll.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in payroll systems and tools.
  • Strong understanding of South African employee tax legislation and statutory submissions.
  • Experience in performing General Ledger (GL) and payroll reconciliations.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Other Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other related tools.
