Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Payroll Accurately: Ensure all employee data is accurately captured, verify time and attendance system integration, check earnings and deductions, run payroll cycles on schedule, and audit payroll data regularly to correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain Compliance: Stay updated with labour laws and income tax regulations, ensure accurate calculation of statutory deductions, and submit required reports to regulatory bodies on time.
  • Provide Payroll Support: Respond to inquiries regarding payroll promptly, communicate changes in payroll processes or policies clearly, and offer necessary education on payroll-related topics.
  • Maintain Records and Generate Reports: Document all payroll transactions, securely store records, generate accurate payroll reports for management and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Enhance Processes and Systems: Identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, assist in implementing new payroll processes or systems, and collaborate with the payroll team and other departments to improve efficiency.
  • Reconcile Third-Party Payments: Ensure timely and accurate payments to third parties by reconciling schedules with the general ledger and Nutun payment file.

Qualification Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma or relevant qualification in Payroll Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Certified Payroll Professional (SAPA) – Desirable

Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration
  • Proven experience with payroll systems
  • Familiarity with South African payroll legislation (1-2 years)
