Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Receive shipping documents from packing platforms for Transport Material (KD Kits and SPOL parts) and Transport Products (Complete built units)
  • Expedite SPOL LCL (Less than container load) sea freight shipments for customs clearance via agent.
  • Compile Clearing Instructions and send them to the clearing agents
  • Coordinate the airfreight movements for UCRs and extra orders.
  • Update arrival dates on operational controlling files.

Customs Compliance:

  • Ensure all automotive imports and exports comply with relevant customs regulations and laws. Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and tariffs affecting the automotive industry.

Documentation Management:

  • Prepare and review customs documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation.

Liaison with Customs Authorities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with customs officials to facilitate the smooth clearance of automotive goods.
  • Handle any issues or disputes related to customs clearance.

Duty and Tax Calculation:

  • Calculate and pay customs duties, taxes, and fees on automotive imports and exports.
  • Ensure accurate classification of goods to apply the correct tariffs.
  • Risk Management:Identify and mitigate risks related to customs non-compliance, including fines, delays, and seizures.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of customs processes to ensure compliance.

Coordination with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with logistics, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure timely and compliant shipment of vehicles and components.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on customs regulations and procedures.

Problem-Solving:

  • Address and resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including delays, misclassification, or disputes.

Minimum qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the relevant regulations including INCO(international commercial terms)terms.
  • Working knowledge of all related operational processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Certification in customs brokerage or related certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customs control or international trade, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
