Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Responsible for all VW quotations, resource analysis and providing this information to the Costing Department.
  • Determine whether the department can cope with new external projects, or if external assistance is required.
  • Ensure that every outcome takes health and safety into consideration.
  • Ensure that every change is registered in the Quality System.
  • Services expected: Time Studies, Smart Tools, Logistical Layouts, Warehouse Layouts, Routes Planning,
  • Process Flow Charts, Engineering Changes, Manpower Control and Special Equipment Control.
  • Maintain excellent relationship with customer.
  • Deliver profitable growth in the business unit.
  • Work closely with Industrial Engineers within the department to ensure calculations are in line with measurement tools and methods.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s rules and regulations as documented in the company’s disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure that housekeeping is maintained in your work area.
  • Ensure safe work practice as defined during Induction and other health and safety related training and awareness campaigns.
  • Initiate the appropriate interventions to secure compliance in terms of service delivery, quality, and innovation.

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills

  • Matric.
  • Tertiary Qualification.
  • Five years management/supervisory experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of Logistics processes applicable to the department and operations.
  • Ability to decide and initiate action.
  • Ability to lead and supervise.
  • Ability to work with people.
  • Ability to present and communicate information.
  • Ability to apply expertise and technology.
  • Ability to deliver results and meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to cope with pressure and setbacks.
  • Ability to analyse information.
  • Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office packages, CAD and/or MicroStation Drawing and experience with MTM UAS.
