REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12. National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Bdegree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.  
  • Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Candidate or be eligible to register will be an added advantage. Experience in water & sewer infrastructure maintenance, operations and construction.
  • Valid Driver’s license. Excellent Communication and report writing skills, Interpersonal skills. Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint, MS Projects). Competent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies.
  • Skills & Competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict & stress management, negotiation skills & problemsolving skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail. Project management and financial management skills & experience. Hard working, selfmotivated and selfdisciplined person.
  • Three (03) years’ experience in Infrastructure projects Management, or Civil Engineering Infrastructure structure Design, or Construction of Civil Engineering Infrastructure.
  • The experience to be in water, or sanitation, or roads, or structural engineering infrastructure. Experience in Local Government/Authority will be an added advantage.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for providing data capturing service related to projects or activities pertaining to MIG Funding and IDP Projects.
  • Responsible for all general office administration duties related to the post and as instructed by the Director: PMU. Liaise with contractors and consultants for all projects, including contracts for feasibility studies and provide administrative support.
  • Coordinating the project feasibility and business planning process, with the involvement of other municipal departments if appropriate, in terms of the relevant IDPs. Project management, ensuring projects meet planning objectives. Responsible for all MIG Reporting in terms of the MIGMIS.
  • Compile comprehensive reports and presentations relating to Projects or activities pertaining to MIG Funding and IDP Projects. Ensuring compliance with EPWP guidelines on projects implementation and complaint reporting to EPWP, MIG and other stakeholders. Attending meetings with and/or behalf of the PMU Director.
  • Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.
