About the Role
The Portfolio Marketing Manager drives strategic growth by managing brand data and ensuring 100% compliance with global marketing standards for financial services. Utilizing Salesforce for client orchestration and HubSpot for campaign analytics, the manager minimizes operational risk in market positioning. Their leadership leverages data-driven insights to optimize brand equity and ensure the commercial success of the group’s global financial products.
Key Responsibilities
- Go-to-Market Planning:
Lead GTM planning for new product launches and newly acquired Fintech products alongside Product teams – produce a GTM pack to serve as the basis of all outbound activity across sales, marketing and CRM teams. - Messaging & Positioning:
Develop differentiated messaging frameworks and value propositions tailored to buyer personas across the fintech lifecycle. - Sales Enablement:
Create and maintain sales collateral, pitch decks, battlecards, and training materials to support Client facing and sales teams. Collaborate with the Demand Marketing team to ensure alignment with campaign messaging. - Market Intelligence:
Extract ongoing competitor and market research from product team to inform positioning, pricing, and content strategy. Feed insights back into product roadmap discussions and campaign planning. - Campaign Collaboration:
Partner with demand generation, content/comms and digital teams to provide the required information and collateral to develop integrated campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth across fintech platforms
Performance Tracking:
Define and report on key product marketing KPIs including engagement, adoption, retention, and influenced pipeline.
- Customer Voice and Content:
Be the information engine on Fintech solutions – act as the voice of the customer by gathering feedback, testimonials, and case studies from internal stakeholders to support the creation of thought leadership and product content for use across channels.
Required Experience and Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in B2B product marketing in a SaaS or fintech business.
- Strong understanding of the fintech landscape, including digital platforms, tokenisation, and regulatory considerations.
- Good understanding of and strong interest in Fintech solutions such as blockchain, tokenization etc.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical features into compelling, client-centric messaging.
- Experience working in matrixed environments with cross-functional global teams across product, sales, and marketing.
- Proficiency in using SaaS marketing tools such as CRM and SAM’s.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on storytelling and clarity.
- Familiarity with AI tools to streamline content creation and campaign execution.
- Ability to work at pace and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing to institutional investors, asset managers, or wealth platforms.
- Knowledge of lifecycle marketing and buyer journey mapping.
- Exposure to solution selling and segment-based GTM strategies.
Career Growth & Education
A degree in Marketing, Business Science, or Communications is mandatory, with an MBA or professional certifications like CIM being highly preferred. Career growth leads to Global Marketing Director or Chief Growth Officer roles by mastering digital performance metrics. Participating in executive leadership bootcamps and obtaining certifications in digital transformation provides a pathway to elite high-paying leadership positions in the fintech sector.
Salary & Financial Insight
Estimated monthly salaries range from R65,000 to R115,000, plus performance bonuses and executive benefits. High-income managers should prioritize professional wealth management and offshore investment diversification to protect their long-term capital growth.
