Role Responsibilities
- Supporting, and managing dynamic system modeling information and studies
- Developing and recommending best practices for the conduct of system impact analysis (including electromagnetic transient analysis) of new renewable technologies, such as inverter-based generation, including wind, solar, and storage technologies.
- Present recommendations regarding system modeling issues and results to ISOs and Utilities.
- Develop and recommend best practices for power systems studies.
- Expertise in doing steady state and, stability and dynamic studies with in-depth knowledge of Grid Code Compliance studies for IPP sites.
- Evaluate technical reports and provide independent review for clients
- Conduct specialist power system studies such as insulation coordination, protection coordination, loss calculation, etc..
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a preference for specialization in power systems
- Experience interacting with stakeholders
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Highly proficient user of EMT simulation software and commonly used network simulation software (Eg. PSSE, PSLF, ASPEN, DSATools, Powerworld, EMTDC/PSCAD, EMTP RV, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP)
- Experience performing a range of studies including insulation coordination, switching studies, power quality studies, dynamic performance studies and forensic studies
