About the Role
The Principal Personnel Officer drives high-RPM HR excellence by managing employee data and ensuring 100% compliance with labor laws and public sector policies. Utilizing Oracle for payroll integration and ServiceNow for workflow orchestration, the officer minimizes operational risk in human capital management. Their role leverages data-driven insights to optimize benefit administration and ensures the institutional integrity of the provincial health department.
- Appropriate experience in Employee Benefits and Policies & Practices. Appropriate experience in PERSAL.
- Computer skills MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Outlook and PERSAL and numeracy skills. Extensive knowledge of PERSAL and People Management prescripts in the Public Service.
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills and ability to function under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Effective management of the Benefit Administration section and Policies & Practices. Effective supervision and development of staff. Render an efficient and effective support and advisory service to personnel functionaries at institutions and management of audit investigations and ensure compliance. Provide an effective support function to supervisor.
- Senior Certificate or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel. Valid Driver’s licence.
- R 325 101 – R 382 959 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
Career Growth & Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Management, or Industrial Psychology is mandatory for this professional track. Career growth leads toward Human Resources Manager or Director roles by mastering public sector labor relations and digital HR transformation. Salary & Financial Insight
