Principal Process Operator needed at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Grade 12 or post matric relevant Trade Certificate qualification preferably a NTC3 / N3 in Water Treatment or Waste Water Treatment
• Code EB Driver’s License;
• 3 -5 years’ relevant experience and working knowledge of water testing techniques, equipment and operating processes.
• Operational requirements will dictate the specific start and the ending times as per the stipulated work schedule rule applicable.

The incumbent must be:

• Physically fit and able bodied for the execution of tasks/duties inherent to and necessitated by the job design.
• Available to work overtime and / or outside of normal working hours which can include weekends and public holiday and in all weather conditions

Key Performance Areas

• Executes specific applications related to operation of the filtration plants at swimming pools.
• Attends to the application of specific operating procedures to ensure process outcomes complies with the standard and prescribed specifications and that optimum operation functionality is maintained.
• Communicates with immediate superior on plant condition, performance and outcomes.
• Executes specific instructions to address deviations or disruptions to process and mechanical operations.
• Logs specific activities /outcomes associated with process in registers and obtains verification and approval thereof.
