Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To be the continuous improvement driver of the Metallurgical process through reporting on and analysing production performance, making recommendations and implementing projects in a safe manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality:

  • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
  • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

Customers:

  • Achieve process quality 
  • Achieve total water treatment process quality
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction

Business Processes:

Process Reliability:

  • Update Process Strategy
  • Implement Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings
  • Manage day to day water treatment management

Process Management:

  • Achieve process budget
  • Achieve water treatment budget
  • Optimise water treatment process for the site

CMMS:

  • Update GSAP Master Data
  • Report process measures

Project Management:

  • Implement improvement projects
  • Implement water treatment improvement project for the site

Growth:

  • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost saving projects
  • Take the lead on specific improvement initiatives as required. This may include project management, report writing and effective stakeholder communication

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.Eng./BSc. Eng. Degree or N Diploma
  • 4 years’ relevant experience in the heavy industry, preferably 2 years’ managerial experience
