Processing Technician – Specialised Products needed at Western Cape Blood Service

Main purpose:

• Performs modification of blood components within specific time constraints, by further processing into specialised products for patient use. This includes product pooling, filtration, washing and manual manipulation.

A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Have a friendly disposition and show keen interest in the work. 
• A willingness to work as part of a team is essential

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate
• Technician qualification or Lab Assistant or currently undergoing Technician training
• Registration with HPCSA in Blood Transfusion
• Computer literate
• Minimum of two years’ experience
• The working hours are variable and weekend and Public Holidays work is required
