Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performance of our purchasing associate, buyer associate and intercompany associate teams.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • Ensure all escalations are addressed and root cause identified with the appropriate fixes put in place.
  • Analyse data to ensure the following is being adhered to within the relevant departments.
  • All supplier queries are logged within the agreed time frame set by the business to ensure operational deadlines are met.
  • All CDW purchase orders are actively chased and updated accordingly so we are providing the best information to our customers.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are placed within the agreed time frame set by the business.
  • Ensure all intercompany issues are actioned within the agreed time frame set by the business.
  • Work closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensure operational targets are being met and adhered to so we provide the best possible data and updates to our customers and the rest of the operation.
  • Develop and implement procurement operational strategies as set by the Head of Procurement.

Mentor, coach & develop the team to:

  • Deliver best in class service to internal and external customers
  • Deliver CDW procurement strategy and priorities
  • Help them think differently and innovate new ideas.
  • Organise and arrange training within the team, ensure there is a clear plan for career development.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings and other management duties.
  • Ensure that the customer requirement is at the centre of the decision-making process, working closely with up and downstream departments in the process, & to always stimulate a culture of collaboration.
  • Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-today technical and operational problems.
  • Implementing & maintaining processes to ensure the teams operate with maximum efficiency and governance.
  • Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas to improve efficiency
  • Coordinates resources and sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of working in an operational role, ideally within IT and procurement for at least 3 years
  • Strong engagement skills, proven ability to build stakeholder & supplier relationships & be an expert commercial advisor.
  • Show excellent team management skills.
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work under own initiative, making decisions to benefit the business.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated drive & ambition, alongside proactive thinking; working in complex & challenging environment to resolve commercial issues
