Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum B degree or equivalent in Procurement
  • Minimum 4 – 6 years in Procurement at a specialist/ middle management level
  • Must know and be familiar with the relevant legislation/s
  • MS Office, Email, Word, PowerPoint and Excel at progressive level
  • Knowledge and drive of BBBEE revised codes
  • Experience in implementing procurement systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Bidvest International Logistics internal and external stakeholders conform to Procurement policy and its requirements.
  • Maintain clear mandates between the Business and Procurement.
  • Ensure the company’s brand and reputation are protected at all times.
  • Category management and the strategic sourcing of goods or services from suppliers.
  • Identifying and implementing areas of improvement related to category and supplier strategies that leverage Bidvest International Logistics spend and deliver significant economic benefits.
  • Continuously improving external supplier quality, service, innovation, delivery and costs.
  • Business analytics of all spend within Bidvest International Logistics so as to enable better decision making.
  • The development, control, reporting and measurement of compliance to procurement policies, processes and procedures.
  • In conjunction with Bidvest International Logistics Legal Department, implement contracts and negotiate favorable contractual trading terms and conditions to meet business requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and communicate price increases, preferably 3 months, before the increase is due and inform all stakeholders accordingly.
  • To support the groups business purchases of goods and services from external suppliers through recognized procurement delivery channels and processes.
  • To support the business through risk reduction, value extraction and cost saving initiatives.
  • Identifying new procurement processes that are more efficient and effective.
  • Completing a comprehensive handover of all relevant information and activity where a supplier is to be managed in the Business.
  • Maintaining the process and control requirements for supplier management.
  • Manage benefits tracking and reporting.
  • Support and facilitate local, regional, and national business requirements.
  • Identifying risks inherent in procurement and escalating these to the appropriate senior level within the Business.
  • Responsible for the BEE tracking and reporting
  • Lead operational management of external suppliers in terms of B-BBEE, service, quality, cost and delivery in line with agreed Contract and Service Level Agreement.
