Main Purpose
The proxy product owner will represent the needs of both the business stakeholders, as well as the end users within the organisation. The incumbent will translate the business and end user needs into stories, and create a priority set for the development team, ensuring the final product delivers value to the various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Designing Solutions to meet Business requirements

  1. Gathering stakeholder needs to define the behaviour of the system through user stories
  2. Confirmation of acceptance criteria, aligned to business and technical requirements
  3. Development and management of product backlogs
  4. Prioritisation of features and issues in the development roadmap
  5. Ensure quality standards are met and readiness for release
  6. Decision-making regarding release of product increments in line with delivering value

Subject matter Expertise

  1. Facilitate grooming ceremonies in order to help the team understand what needs to be developed
  2. Improve flow of sprints by collaborating with the development team and breaking down stories into smaller more manageable items
  3. Monitoring product backlogs and ensuring timeous release of product increments
  4. Attend Sprint reviews and provide relevant story updates
  5. Conduct feasibility testing, to identify errors and issues before release into the production environment
  6. Managing the financial and resource forecasting and planning

Stakeholder Management

  1. Work with key business stakeholders to align with project objectives
  2. Build relationships and collaborate with development teams to ensure that they have sufficient detail to get to done
  3. Review and give input to the testing cycles and support the Release manager to ensure stability of releases into the production environment

  9. Systems Analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • 3 year Commercial or Information Technology degree/ diploma
  • Certification in Agile methodologies is an advantage
  • Scrum Product Owner certification advantageous

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
3 – 5 years relevant experience.
Project management experience beneficial
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated leadership, analytical and technical skills
Strong relationship building competence
Stakeholder Management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  1. Business application design
  2. Business analyst skills.
  3. Broad general IT knowledge.
  4. Deep business understanding of WFS or equivalent experience in Financial Service Industries and/or Banking
  5. Business process modelling tools
