Role purpose

  • This role will be responsible for the end-to-end (From planning, planting, harvesting, drying, shelling, processing, and warehousing & distribution) planning, schedule and execution of all production related activities for the Brits Foundation Seed Site.

Key responsibilities and tasks

  • Expedite the flow of work and materials between departments according to the production schedule and determine the progress of work, inventory levels of consumables and identify production problems proactively all with good focus on cost management.
  • Planning, scheduling and ensuring execution of all Production activities for Brits, from field preparations up to finished product in the bag and distribution thereof.
  • Responsible for actively managing inventory of consumable to ensure no production related activities are interrupted.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions for increased efficiency.
  • Schedule and lead all production related meetings with the field and plant teams to ensure smooth flow of product.
  • In collaboration with the Production Administrators, ensure all Processing Orders are created, executed and closed in a timely manner.
  • In collaboration with the Warehousing and Quality Teams, ensure the necessary D&O procedures are duly followed to write-off inventory when needed to ensure effective inventory and space utilization.
  • With the Production and Warehouse teams, ensure seed is moved effectively and timeously between the various seed processing staging areas.
  • Work closely with production team to ensure processes related to stock movements is strictly adhered to and complied with.
  • Responsible for KPI development and tracking of KPI`s. Active participation and feedback of KPI`s on related production meetings will be required.
  • Support Continuous improvement projects to drive cost saving and OEE.
  • Actively participate in all QMS related problem-solving activities to ensure corrective and preventative actions are identified and addressed accordingly.
  • Maintain planning and scheduling records as required by the QMS management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001:2015
  • Responsible to support all other departments to achieve own and other`s business goals.
  • HSE Responsibilities
  • Provide safety information to employees as appropriate
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment
  • Assist HSE Coordinator in Management Review and Safety Minutes
  • Participate in all required HSE trainings and educations
  • Take responsibility for the content of the First aid kit in the Main building
  • Upon request participate in emergency response team.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning/process plant.
  • Having production planning experience will be very beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Good planning and prioritizing skills.
  • MS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.)
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Results focused with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong teamwork (flexibility to work across the areas and positively influencing others).
  • Establish clear direction and making decisions on a timely manner.
  • ISO training or exposure will be desirable.
