MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
• Advantageous: 3 months Production exposure in a Plant / Mining environment.
• Advantageous: 6 months experience as a PTW on a trackless mine.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Responsible for underground construction activities as required to enhance production targets.
• Render general assistance and support with regard to production process, e.g. installing pipes, painting, white washing of side walls, installation of ventilation seal, building of waiting places and assistance with the installation of ventilation fans.
• Conduct inspections to ensure safe operations and to prevent blockages, stoppages, defects, malfunctions and/or breakages. Communicate effectively with, and assist line Supervisors and related mine personnel with ad hoc activities.
• Waste removal, cleaning equipment safely, e.g. rakes and shovels. Cleaning of working environment.
• Install PVC pipes and pumps, operation of pumps, reporting of any defects on pumps.
