Requirements

  • Appropriate relevant 3-year qualification in Human Resources or relevant related field.
  • Two (2) – five (5) years’ experience at a professional level within the Employee Relations/Labour Relations field
  • Theoretical and practical exposure to the broader Labour
  •  Relations field Incumbent requires practical exposure to the labour dispute resolution processes specifically arbitrations

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide specialist advice to the organization on a wide range of employee relations issues with the aim of minimizing labour disputes and /or safeguarding the interest of the organization
  • Provide a specialist corporate consultation service to line manager and other stakeholders pertaining to broad Employee Relations issues
  • Provide feedback to departments and directorates on disputes at external disputes forum
  • To ensure effective, efficient and adequate development by
  •  representing the City in external dispute resolution proceedings
  • Representing the City in disputes resolution proceedings which include condonation and conciliation proceedings, and providing strategic support/assistance and or representation to SPO’s in arbitration proceedings
  • Ensuring high standards of written communication to a variety of stake holders in senior management
  • Serve as a key liaison with the Legal Services department pertaining to all labour related matters.
