Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the setting, tracking, reporting and management of deviations on agreed debt collection performance outcomes.
- Lead and oversee the Debt Collections programme, ensuring alignment with SARS’s strategic and mandate objectives.
- Develop and implement enhanced as well as agile comprehensive debt collection strategies to maximize revenue recovery
- Monitor and analyze debt collection performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Improve processes and procedures that relate to debt collections through lessons learnt within the programme.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance debt collection processes and policies and ensure good practice adoption.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in debt collection.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the debt collection team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on debt collection performance to senior management and the Deputy Commissioner.
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
- 15 – 18 years’ experience in a Tax / Audit / Debt environment, of which 6 – 8 years at a senior management level with Relevant Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in Management / Leadership / Project Management / Taxation / Debt Management.
OR
- 18+ years Tax / Audit / Debt experience, of which 6 – 8 years at a senior management level with Relevant Honours Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Management / Leadership / Project Management / Taxation / Debt Management.
